Membership levels and page access tiers

Tiers group your members so you can lock pages to a group. They live under Contacts → Page access tiers.

Create a tier. Click New tier, give it a name such as Premium or Course access, add an optional description, and save. Colours are assigned for you. The list shows each tier with its member count, and you can search or filter it.

One tier can be the default. Tick Make this the default tier when creating or editing one. That tier is auto-granted to anyone who registers as a member on your site. Only one tier can hold the default at a time, so setting a new one clears the old.

Assign tiers from a member's profile. Open the contact under Contacts → All Contacts and use the Page access tiers picker in the Membership panel. That, plus the default at registration, is how tiers get handed out.

What tiers gate. Tiers gate pages, and only pages. On a page's details you can restrict it to members holding a specific tier. See Gating pages.

What tiers do not gate. Buying a product does not assign a tier, and holding a tier does not unlock a course, ebook, download or community. Access inside the member area comes from grants instead, written when someone buys, when you grant by email, or when they receive a community. These are two independent systems, so a member can hold a tier and own nothing, or own everything and hold no tier. See Giving and revoking access.

Deleting a tier is safe. Members keep their accounts and simply lose that tier. Any page gated to the deleted tier falls back to "any member" rather than locking everyone out.

Members can see their own tiers. They appear in the Membership section of the member account page.
