Member accounts and logins

Updated August 17, 2026

Members are contacts who have a password. They sign in on your published site, and every account is scoped to your site alone.

Registration. Visitors sign up at /members/register with a name, email and a password of at least eight characters, plus an optional marketing consent box. If you marked a tier as the default, it is granted at that moment.

Email verification is required. Registration does not log anyone in. A confirmation email goes out, and the link inside is valid for 48 hours. Clicking it verifies the address and signs them in. If someone tries to log in first they are told to confirm their email, and a resend option is offered. This is what stops a stranger claiming an email address that is already in your contact list.

Invites are the other door. When you grant access to an email that has no account yet, the invite email carries a signed set-password link valid for seven days. Setting the password there both creates the login and verifies the address in one step, because clicking the emailed link already proves they own the inbox. See Giving and revoking access.

Password resets. Members use the forgot-password page on your site. The link is single use and expires after 60 minutes, and a confirmation email is sent once the password changes. An invited member who never finished setting a password can use the reset flow as their way in. For privacy, the page responds the same way whether or not the address has an account.

What members can change themselves. On their account page they can update their name and phone, upload or remove a photo, and change their password. The email address is read only and says to contact you to change it.

Self-cancellation is your choice. Under Sales → Subscriptions & cancellation, the setting Let customers cancel their own subscriptions from their account controls it. With it on, a member cancels from their subscriptions page and access runs to the end of the paid period. With it off, they have to contact you. A billing portal link for updating a card is offered separately.
