Building a course
A course is modules, and modules hold lessons. Open your course and stay on the Outline tab. Type a name into Add a module… and click Add module. Inside each module, use the Add a lesson… field to add lessons.
Reorder by dragging. Drag lessons within a module or across to a different module, and drag modules to change their order. Each lesson row also has a duplicate button, which copies the lesson and all its content as a new draft.
Lessons are built from blocks. Open a lesson to reach the editor, then add blocks in any order:
- Video, pick a video from your media library or paste a YouTube or Vimeo URL.
- Text, written content with basic HTML allowed.
- Image, PDF and Audio, each picked from your media library.
- Embed, for pasting a URL.
- Quiz, with questions that take a single answer or multiple answers, a pass percentage, and an option to require it before the lesson counts as complete.
- Assignment, with instructions and a submission type of text answer, file upload, or either. Submissions collect under the block, and you can open or download what members hand in.
Blocks can be reordered and removed.
Draft and published exist at three levels. The product, each module and each lesson have their own Publish and Unpublish control. A lesson only reaches members when the lesson, its module and the product are all published, so you can launch a course while the final module is still being written.
Drip decides when a lesson opens. In the lesson editor's Drip / scheduling panel choose Available immediately, Days after joining, or On a fixed date. Days after joining counts from the moment that member first got access, so everyone follows their own schedule.
Comments are controlled twice. On the product's Customize tab, Enable comments and Lock all comments set the default for the whole course. Each lesson can then override it: use the product default, Visible, Locked (read only), or Hidden.
