Getting paid by your clients

Updated August 17, 2026

Client subscription money goes to you directly, not through us.

Connect Stripe. On your Subscription plans page you will find the payouts card. Connecting takes you through Stripe's own onboarding and links your Stripe account to the platform. Once connected, paid plan checkouts, trials and recurring billing all run against your Stripe account, and Stripe pays out to your bank on your Stripe schedule.

What your clients see. A clean checkout for your plan, a billing page inside their workspace with their current plan, usage meters, invoices and a customer portal for updating cards. Switching plans mid-cycle is prorated automatically.

Failed payments. When a client's charge fails, Stripe retries on its schedule. The client's workspace shows a payment warning, and if the subscription ultimately lapses the account drops to read-only until they fix billing and reactivate. Their data is never deleted by a failed card.

Processing fees. Separately from your plan pricing, a small processing fee applies to the payments your clients collect from their own customers through their connected payment providers. You can read how that works in Processing fees explained.

Refunds. Since the money is in your Stripe account, refunds to clients are issued from your Stripe dashboard like any other Stripe charge.
